Miami Cigar Adds Corojo To Nestor Miranda Collection

Nestor Miranda is employing his favorite wrapper varietal to create a new blend for the cigars that bear his name.

The Nestor Miranda Collection Corojo is the first addition to the namesake brand of the Miami Cigar & Co. founder since it debuted in 2014. It came at the suggestion of Miranda himself, who has a certain admiration for corojo wrappers.

“I love everything about the corojo wrapper, the appearance, the oiliness and the flavor,” said Miranda.

Corojo is the first Nestor Miranda Collection cigar to feature a blend of all-Nicaraguan tobacco. It comes in four sizes—Robusto, measuring 4 1/2 inches by 50 ring gauge; Toro, 5 1/2 by 54; Corona Gorda, 6 by 46; and Gordo, 6 by 60—and ships in black-matte boxes of 20. The cigars range in price from $7.50 to $9.50 each.

Corojo joins a trio of blends—Connecticut, Habano and Maduro—that make up the Nestor Miranda Collection. (Maduro, the only blend that is not named after its specific varietal, wears a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.) The packaging on Corojo continues the brand’s motif of designating a neon color for each blend: blue for Connecticut, green for Habano, red for Maduro and now yellow for Corojo.

All Nestor Miranda Collection cigars are rolled by the Garcia family at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

Corojo made its debut at the 2016 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas and is arriving at retail now.
